The Butler University Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences
(INFORMS) Student Chapter is the
academic and professional organization for students interested in supply chain analytics
and data-driven decision making. While most members are
Supply Chain
and
Business Technology & Analytics (BTA)
majors in the
Lacy School of Business,
the chapter is equally well-suited for students in mathematics, statistics, data science, and
related quantitative fields who want to integrate forecasting, optimization, process improvement, and systems thinking
to address operational and strategic challenges.
The chapter hosts workshops, company visits, speaker discussions, professional skill-building sessions,
and collaborative applied research opportunities with faculty mentors.
Its purpose is to help students develop strong analytical proficiency, practical consulting and communication skills,
and a service-oriented mindset that prepares them for analytics-focused internships and careers.
